GODFLESH at The Arches, Glasgow 2010

Tonight, Phil Thompson and myself drove to Glasgow to realise a dream we've both individually held for nearly 20 years. We saw GODFLESH live. Given that they split up in 2002, this was one gig that we simply weren't going to miss.

There's always a niggling doubt when going to see a band you were into so long ago...will they still be any good etc? I am reporting that this gig went straight in to my top 3 of all time. They were unbelievably amazing.

From their first song "Like Rats", all the way through to their last song "Slateman", they were outstanding. The noise that 2 guys and a drum machine can make would fear you.

I've never been struck dumb after a gig before but tonight, with some post gig chit chat with others, I found myself pretty much speechless. I was in total AWE of them.

I now need to wait for my hearing to return and I swear I can still feel the bass rattling through my ribcage. If you get the chance to see these guys live (i never thought i would), then take it.
